The Importance of U-Value Measurements in Retrofitting

Retrofitting projects are often challenged by incomplete data, reliance on assumptions, and limited understanding of the actual building performance. Each building behaves differently, and without real measurements, we can't easily see where energy is lost.

In situ U-value measurements enable accurate measurements of U-value under real operating conditions. By capturing real U-value measurement data for external walls and other building envelope elements, building professionals can assess the true thermal performance of a build before and after its retrofit.

U–Value measurements are vital for showing how much heat a building part loses. This helps link design plans with real-world results. Using an ISO 9869 U-value measurement system gives reliable thermal resistance measurements, and supports better retrofit decisions and energy savings.
