Frequently Asked Questions
Have more questions about our products? Send us an e-mail or book a meeting with our expert.
Which countries can I use the systems in?
Our UVAL Wired System may be purchased and used worldwide.
Meanwhile, the UVAL Wireless system is only available in Europe, most of Africa, and the Middle East. It employs a sub-GHz Communication link at 868 MHz.
Can I take the U-Value of glass?
Both of our system models feature a CSV export function, enabling comprehensive analysis of measurements. We also provide an adaptable Excel template upon request, which you can use to further tailor and analyze your data.
Which building elements can I not take measurements of?
Vented cavities do not support accurate in-situ U-Value measurements.
What interior building conditions should I watch out for?
The following conditions can affect readings:
- Proximity to Heating and AC Devices
- Room Occupancy
- Drafts
- Mold Presence
What exterior building conditions should I watch out for?
Direct sunlight should be avoided on the sensors. greenteg’s node and outdoor sensors are rated IP67.
What's the minimum period for an ISO calculation?
72 hours, however ideally you need at least 96 hours
What temperature conditions should be considered?
Minimum 5°c between exterior and interior environments. This requirement can make conducting measurements more challenging during the summer season.
What are the differences between the wired and wireless systems?
To view a detailed comparative table between the wired and wireless systems, please download our brochure.
Below is a summary of the key differences:
- UVAL Wireless supports up to 5 measurement points per system, offering greater flexibility in data collection. UVAL Wired only allows 1.
- UVAL Wireless allows for data collection and monitoring from a distance, enhancing convenience and efficiency. Wired systems require direct access for data retrieval.
- UVAL Wireless provides direct measurements for U-Value, R-Value, and Lambda Value. UVAL Wired provides only U-Value measurements; R-Value needs to be calculated separately.
Is the software included?
Yes, software and subsequent updates are free.
Do I need remote measurement access to use the UVAL Wireless system?
No, Remote Measurement Access is not required. However, this means you must visit your measurement site with your laptop to read the measurements.
What is the operating principle of the UVAL Wireless System?
The nodes communicate to the base station, which stores all the data. Nodes only transmit data when a sensor has been plugged into them. Hence when you’re not taking measurements, please disconnect the sensors. The nodes communicate to the base station on a specific subGHz frequency, so it is only available in certain regions of the world (Europe, most of Africa, and the Middle East).
Can I unplug my UVAL Wireless base station?
Base station should be connected to a power source during measurement as its battery life is 48 hours.
Is the UVAL Wireless available in my region?
The UVAL Wireless system is only available in Europe, most of Africa, and the Middle East, as it uses a sub-GHz communication link at 868 MHz.
Alternatively, our UVAL Wired System is available worldwide.
